8MS User Guide
Trouble Number Query

This function allows you to locate the contact number of a toll free number or of a Resp Org.

In the menu frame, select the Trouble # Query link located in the Number Admin section of the menu. The following will appear in the workspace frame:

To query for a contact number, you have the option to enter the numeric format of the dialed number by using the Toll Free Number field or to enter the Resp Org code by using the Resp Org field. The format of the number is 10 digits with or without the dashes (for example: 8005551212 or 800-555-1212). The format of the Resp Org name is 5 characters.

Select the button. A message will appear in the response frame indicating the status of the request.

As of release 9.4, Trouble Number Query has been enhanced to provide the most accurate information about a number. As in previous releases, first a Trouble Referral Query query is sent to SMS/800. If the number is found then the returned information is displayed. However, if the number is Reserved or Spare then SMS/800 fails because it finds no records. At this point, 8MS now automatically executes a Number Query. If the number Reserved then a Trouble Referral Query is executed on the owning Resp Org. If the number Spare, then that information is shown.
Batch Trouble Number Query

This function allows you to locate the contact number of a list of toll free numbers.

Select the button. The Batch Popup will appear. See Batches in the Common Features section for details on the Batch Popup.
